INDIANAPOLIS — Bicyclists celebrated new infrastructure upgrades near downtown Indianapolis Wednesday.
Two-way traffic now makes its way down New York and Michigan streets. The conversion projects recently wrapped up and include new protected bike lanes.
People who ride in the area say it's a welcome set-up, and a safer one.
"I just think it's great that it's a multi-modal project that makes it safer for all road users, improved the bus stops and made it safer for everyone to cross the street," said Anthony Cherolis, executive director of Central Indiana Cycling.
Cherolis says when it comes to connectivity, the city has a lot of great central corridors.
