About “Hope in High Water”

This new documentary from Trymaine Lee follows the acclaimed journalist back to New Orleans, 20 years after initially reporting on Hurricane Katrina. The doc centers around the area’s recovery process, as told by locals who remained in the aftermath of the deadly natural disaster.

Alongside archival footage of the flooding, Lee includes conversations with community leaders, folks involved in rebuilding efforts, and those who experienced Katrina firsthand in order to reflect on what it took, and still takes, to overcome such devastation.
