OMAHA, Neb. —

After a stretch of hot, humid weather, chances for showers and storms late Friday will usher in cooler air for the next week.

Omaha's Weather Leader has declared Friday an impact weather day with potential for scattered showers and storms, including a risk for isolated severe thunderstorms.

Scattered storms could develop late Friday afternoon and Friday evening, continuing overnight into early Saturday morning.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed a marginal risk for isolated severe storms across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. Damaging wind gusts and large hail are our primary threats.
