Ghanaian dancehall superstar Shatta Wale has found himself at the center of fresh controversy after being detained in Accra over a tax investigation linked to his flashy yellow Lamborghini.

The luxury ride, reportedly worth $150,000 (£110,000), was seized earlier this month at the request of US authorities, who claim it’s connected to a fraud scheme involving another Ghanaian, Nana Kwabena Amuah, now serving seven years in a US jail.

Wale’s camp, however, insists the issue has nothing to do with fraud, saying the “Already” hitmaker is only facing questions about tax obligations. In a statement, his team revealed that the artist voluntarily presented himself to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (Eoco) on Wednesday.
