Federal transportation officials and higher-ups at Amtrak are planning a long train trip from the nation's capital to Boston to mark the launch of a new high-speed offering.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Amtrak President Roger Harris and several other key figures will kick off the launch of Amtrak's "NextGen Acela" train with an inaugural ride on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from Washington, D.C. to New York City.
