CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A man was arrested in Georgia in connection with a Charlotte murder from nine months ago, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police confirmed.

Dontae Harrison, 27, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Aug. 18 in Atlanta and charged with murder.

Harrison was accused of shooting Demarcus Gerald on Dec. 7, 2024, on West Trade Street near I-77, according to police. Gerald was taken to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Harrison was awaiting extradition at the time of this article’s writing.
