BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man is facing charges following reported cooking oil thefts from local restaurants.

According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police received a call around 3:24 a.m. Thursday regarding a box truck involved in used cooking oil thefts at several restaurant locations in Bowling Green.

Troopers say it was reported witnesses saw the theft and that it was on surveillance.

Authorities say they located the box truck at the 5-mile marker on Interstate 65, where they conducted a traffic stop.

Troopers say the driver, identified as 23-year-old Kevin Caballero-Oduardo of Louisville, was detained.

Authorities say a witness stated he saw two subjects stealing used oil from Smokey Bones, Longhorn, Sonny’s BBQ, Hardees and Cracker Barrel.
