COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Pueblo County Coroner is being accused of hiding decomposed bodies in his funeral home.

According to documents from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), inspectors from the Office of Funeral and Mortuary Science Services conducted an annual inspection at Davis Mortuary on Wednesday.

When inspectors entered the mortuary, officials said they noticed a strong odor of decomposition and a door hidden by a cardboard display.

Upon removing the cardboard, Pueblo County Coroner and director of the funeral home, Brian Cotter, reportedly asked the inspectors not to enter the room behind the previously hidden door.

The inspectors entered the room and found several bodies in various stages of decomposition.
