CLINTON COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - High levels of E. Coli were found in the water at Park Lake Beach during a routine test this week.
On Tuesday, the Mid-Michigan District Health Department (MMDHD) took a water sample that showed 380 E. Coli bacteria per 100 mL of water.
That’s above the state’s safety limit of 300 for recreational use.
As a result, the health department has posted a water quality advisory at the beach.
They’ll take another water sample on Thursday morning, and results should be available by Friday afternoon.
If the new sample falls below the state’s daily limit, the advisory will be lifted.
