For the first time in forty-eight years, Cracker Barrel has made a major change to their logo.

They've removed the gentleman sitting down at the barrel and gone all text.

Cracker Barrel says the new logo "is now rooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape and word mark that started it all" (via FOX News ).

The brand's original logo rollout in 1969 was also just text — the man at the barrel was added in 1977.

A company spokesperson describes the bold new logo look as being, "Anchored in Cracker Barrel’s signature gold and brown tones."

The new logo will be featured on menus and marketing.

This comes on the heels of ongoing fan controversy about Cracker Barrel modernizing their dining rooms by removing most of the trinkets on the walls and painting them a more basic
