For the 18th time in franchise history, the Magic are distributing at least $1 million in grants to local nonprofit organizations, the Orlando Sentinel learned Thursday.

The team will distribute a record total of $1.6 million through the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation this season with the first set of grants being distributed in surprise visits this week to nonprofit organizations in Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia counties assisting at-risk youth in Central Florida.

The 18 organizations will each receive a bronze basketball keepsake and an OMYF check with the amount they were given at each of the visits with Magic community ambassadors Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw joining a handful of the presentations, the first of which took place Monday.
