ORONO, Maine (WABI) - Bangor police say a person in crisis made statements that led to the law enforcement presence near the Old Town-Orono town line on Wednesday.
Just before 5 p.m., the University of Maine sent out an emergency alert about an situation on Route 2.
The school asked people to avoid the area.
Bangor Police say they alerted officers in Orono, who went to go check on the car that was parked in a dirt turnaround.
We’re told the investigation showed that whatever statements the person made turned out not to be true.
Authorities are working to determine if charges could be coming.
