PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A Pike County man was arrested Wednesday night after troopers with Kentucky State police say he was shooting a gun toward the Shelby Valley high school football field while students were on the field practicing.
According to the arrest citation, a 911 call came in just before 5 p.m., claiming a man was shooting a pistol outside of the Douglas Park Apartments.
Trooper Nicholas Taylor responded to the scene, where he said witnesses confirmed someone had been shooting a gun toward the Shelby Valley High School football field, where the football and cheerleading programs were outside practicing.
