ALEXANDRIA — More than 25 years ago, Dr. Trish Perry started her education career. A previous middle school principal, assistant professor and superintendent, Perry has been hired as the new assistant superintendent of Teaching and Learning for Alexandria Public Schools, taking over for Darcy Josephson, who retired on June 30.
Perry’s mom and brother, along with several other family members, were or are teachers and so it seemed fitting that Perry also chose education for her career path.
“To be quite honest, I didn’t know anything else,” Perry said. “I really wanted to be able to work with kids and make a difference.”
Prior to being hired in Alexandria, Perry was the superintendent for Foley Public Schools. She also served as an assistant professor of education at St. Cloud State Un
