The man charged with murder in the Wednesday killing of a Little Rock teacher outside the preschool where she worked pleaded not guilty Thursday morning, with investigators saying he admitted to running her over and then shooting her with a gun he got from her car, court records show.

Duane Nooner, 29, pleaded not guilty to the count of capital murder in Little Rock District Court on Thursday morning, and Judge Jill Kamps denied him bond, court records show. He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 20, a court clerk said in an email Thursday.
