MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - A Minot man convicted of killing a man and concealing his body in a basement will serve life in prison without the chance of parole.
In May, a jury convicted Delon Davis of murder in the death of Mark “Ramon” McMillan.
Prosecutors said Davis fatally shot Mark McMillan in an encounter at a downtown Minot business last April, and then hid McMillan’s body in a basement.
Investigators discovered his remains three months later.
Davis testified in his own defense at trial, claiming he hid in a room in the basement in fear for his safety and returned gunfire in self-defense.
When given the chance to address the court on Thursday, Davis apologized and took responsibility for his actions, but maintained he was defending his family and business.
