CANBY, Oreg. (KLTV) - Hallsville’s Justin Shaffer won over $12,000 at two different rodeos last week.

The 11th-ranked steer wrestler competed in Canby, Oregon, and Caldwell, Idaho.

At the Canby Rodeo, Shaffer won round one with a time of 3.9 seconds to win $2,462. In round two, Shaffer came in second place with a time of 4.1 seconds to win $2,141. Those times were good enough for first place in average with a time of 8.0 seconds to win $3,692. At the Caldwell Night Rodeo, Shaffer placed fifth in round one with a time of 4.3 seconds to win $1,447. In average, Shaffer had a time of 9.0 seconds to win $2,578. In the finals, Shaffer finished in fifth place with a time of 4.7 seconds to win $414. In all, Shaffer won $12,734 to bring his season earnings to $93,141.
