JACKSON COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Winchester man has been arrested in connection with a May death investigation in Jackson County.
Court documents show that on May 18, detectives found the body of James Dale Carmack, who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene on Highway 1209.
Investigators wrote in an arrest report that as the investigation progressed, multiple witnesses and supporting evidence allegedly identified James "Sam" Bergman, 24, of Irvine, as a person of interest.
On Aug. 20, authorities met Berman at the 1000 block of Winchester Road, where he agreed to be taken to the Estill County Sheriff's Office for an interview.
