VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - Binghamton University's new president Anne D'Alleva spoke to the media for the first time today since joining the Bearcat family.

D'Alleva is coming from the University of Connecticut where she made Husky history, serving as the first ever woman Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Prior to that, she was the Dean at UCONN's School of Fine Arts, as she has a background in art history.

D'Alleva's love for art was a draw to Broome County, but she says the reason she chose Binghamton is because of the university's reputation.
