OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - What developers call a “bold new chapter in North Omaha housing development” was forced into a major rewrite Thursday afternoon.

Sometimes the best plans don’t go as planned.

A portion of a modular home on 25th and Corby streets didn’t make it to the planned landing spot.

Enoch Pittman watched the building fall.

“Well, I saw them trying to lift this here prefab home, and something happened with the apparatus. The belt split through the center part of the structure and it collapsed,” Pittman said.

The rear end crashed to the ground. No one was hurt, but it did a lot of damage, he said. As of Thursday afternoon, it wasn’t known how much damage was done to the home or if the portion of the modular home can be salvaged.
