DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Back to school is around the corner and health care professionals are sharing how important it is to limit screen time for children.
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services , up to 95% of young people ages 13-17 report using a social media platform. More than half say they use it every day, sometimes even spending 3.5 hours on platforms like TikTok or Instagram.
Dr. Marit Knutson, a Pediatrician and Pediatric Hospitalist at Essentia Health, said talking to children about what they’re seeing online is important, especially if they’re seeing online challenges or trends that could be dangerous.
