PALO, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The Palo Fire Hall stood for nearly half a century, but a bad roof meant it had to be demolished and operations were forced to move to the public works building next door.

The demolition was earlier this month.

While the department fortunately has a place to operate and house their equipment, the department is looking for funding sources for a new building.

“We’re very fortunate that we have this space and that we were allowed to come in this space instead of being outside,” said Palo Fire Chief, Mike Skinner.

Skinner said there have been growing pains in the new building and says sharing a space with public works is not a permanent solution.
