HOLT, Mich. (WILX) - A 13-year-old from Holt Junior High was hit by a car on Wednesday while walking home from school, prompting renewed calls for drivers to pay attention in school safety zones.
The boy was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
In response to the incident, Holt Public Schools teamed up with the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office for an early-morning ride-along to highlight school safety. Superintendent Dr. David Hornak explained the importance of awareness for both drivers and students.
