LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - An E. coli advisory has been issued for Park Lake Beach in Bath Township.

The Mid-Michigan District Health Department conducted a routine water test at Park Lake Beach on Aug. 19, 2025. They found 380 E. coli colonies per 100 milliliters of water, 26% higher than the state allows.

Brittany King lives in the area and takes her kids to Park Lake regularly, but this time they missed the signs cautioning them to stay away and went fishing.

“Kids often touch their faces, and they’re not as conscious of infections. So, it is a little bit more concerning with children,” said King.
