CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A wave of kelly green took over Charleston on Thursday night.

It was all for Marshall’s “Paint the Capital City Green.” The event, which took place at the Bill Noe Flight School, featured appearances from all the big names in Marshall athletics.

Patrons also got to enjoy a chef-prepared meal. All proceeds go to Marshall’s Big Green Foundation, which equips Marshall’s Athletic Department to compete at the highest level.

“Just to give back to our fan base a little bit, they give us support,” said Marshall football Coach Tony Gibson. “They pack ‘the Joan’ every Saturday and they do a lot of fund raising, give a lot of money. So, it’s an opportunity for myself, my players, and rest of the coaches to give back to the community.”
