PITTSTON TOWNSHIP, PA — For decades, the people of Pittston have made a point to celebrate what they're most known for in the area. The tomato.
"Kicking off the 42nd annual tomato festival here in the city of Pittston, it's an annual tradition that's been longstanding for over four decades now,” said Michael Lombardo, Mayor of Pittston.
It's a longstanding tradition that's brought a lot of people to Pittston over the years.
"Over the four days, we always figure about a hundred thousand people show up; the last couple of years, we've had even a little bump in that,” added Mayor Lombardo.
