LIVONIA, La. (WAFB) - Parents are demanding answers after a stabbing and brawl involving at least seven students at Livonia High School sparked outrage at the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board meeting Thursday, August 21.
The stabbing, which happened on Monday, marked the 15th time the sheriff’s office has been called to the campus since September 2022. Video from the incident shows a number of students fighting and chaos breaking out.
“It’s not acceptable, it doesn’t matter who you are. If you put your kid on a Pointe Coupee Parish school bus, you should be given the opportunity to attend the school safely,” said parent Brandon Bergeron, who says it’s time for change. “They shouldn’t have to put on a Livonia uniform and that stigma follow them.
