BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - An attorney representing three young siblings who were arrested after allegedly breaking into Howell Community Park’s pool is questioning why it took Baton Rouge police nearly a month to bring charges.
The children, ages 12, 11, and 10, were arrested on charges of unauthorized entry of a place of business, according to attorney Ryan Thompson. Their mother says one of the arrests happened at school, where her son was handcuffed and taken into custody.
The case stems from an incident in July when the children allegedly jumped the fence at the community pool. The facility was shut down for the rest of the year after officials said two of the children were carrying a gun.
At a press conference that month, officials expressed concern.
“The incident on Sunday, two o
