Unheralded Steelers quarterback puts cap on standout preseason by dominating Panthers

The Pittsburgh Steelers never knew what they had in Skylar Thomspon when they signed him in January. Thompson was the QB4 for much of the summer until Will Howard broke his hand and missed the entire preseason.

Yet, with the extra reps he was given, Thompson took full advantage, proving that he can play in the NFL and either playing himself onto the Steelers’ initial roster or another team’s quarterback room.
