CRANSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — In Cranston, Mayor Ken Hopkins is stopping by the McDonald’s on Cranston Street, but it’s not because he wants fries.

The restaurant is hosting its grand re-opening, and to welcome the community back, they’re hosting a backpack and school supply giveaway.

Its free, first come, first serve, and while supplies last.

That giveaway is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Cranston Street McDonald’s.

In Warwick, the Impossible Dream Center is hosting a resource fair and backpack event for students with different needs.

Members with the ARC Rhode Island will be handing out filled backpacks to students with disabilities.
