OZARK, Mo. — Students across Missouri are adjusting to the new ban on cell phones in school. Many area schools have made adjustments to their cell phone rules, including Ozark High School.

Ozark High School Principal Dr. Phillip Witt says that last year, the decision on cell phones was up to the teachers, and phones could be used for instructional purposes, but after Senate Bill 68, that is no longer the case.

"We said that we're going to comply completely," Dr. Witt said. "So we have our electronic device policy includes no cell phones, no smartwatches, no AirPods, those kinds of things."

In Ozark, students can have their phones confiscated if they are seen during the day. Those phones are taken to the office until the end of the school day.
