YOUNGSTOWN Photo-enforced speed cameras in Youngstown school zones will be switched back on Tuesday for the 2025-2026 school year, with fines up to $150 for speeding drivers.

The Youngstown Police Department announced the school zone safety initiative will restart Aug. 26. The cameras will enforce the reduced speed limit of 20 mph during posted hours at 21 schools and will continue to be active until 6 p.m. on school days when children are present or likely to be present.

The school zones are marked with signs and flashing yellow beacons indicating the reduced speed limit.
