Fire investigators have revealed what caused an inferno at a Nottinghamshire recycling centre which took two days to bring under control. Fire crews were called to a large blaze at the Veolia site off Claylands Avenue in Worksop at 12.54am on Wednesday, August 20.

Dozens of firefighters from different stations fought to extinguish and then dampen down the ruined building to prevent any reignition. A spokesperson for the fire service said emergency services had now concluded the fire, which did not injure anyone but caused severe damage, was accidental.

"This incident has now been resolved. The cause of this fire has been deemed as accidental,"
