Inclusion Alberta wants the province to redesign its new Alberta Disabilities Assistance Program before it plunges thousands into deeper poverty, says the advocacy group.
Announced earlier this year, the province said its new Alberta Disabilities Assistance Program (ADAP) will allow people with disabilities to keep more of the money they earn through employment while continuing to receive financial, medical and personal support.
ADAP is scheduled to launch July 1, 2026, and Albertans can review an and provide feedback until Sept. 12. An is also available.
The guide proposes that all current AISH recipients be moved to the new Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP) with a monthly living allowance of $1,740, which will be $200 per month lower than what they receive on AISH ($1,94
