LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Mayor Craig Greenberg hopes a new event will help reduce the number of vacant and abandoned properties in the city.

It’s called the Landbank-A-Rama Open House series and it’s running from Tuesday Aug. 26 through Thursday, Aug. 28.

Each day, the Louisville Landbank Authority will showcase vacant and abandoned properties in a specific neighborhood. Staff will be on site at each location to answer questions regarding the acquisition process, eligibility requirements and redevelopment guidelines.

Greenberg said transforming these properties will boost safety and reduce crime.

Here’s the full schedule for the event:

Tuesday, August 26 — Portland Neighborhood

2513 Rowan Street

225 N 19th Street

330 N 23rd Street
