Ohio woman, once convicted of faking cancer, admits stealing from fallen officer’s fund

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo woman pleaded guilty Thursday to stealing money from a fundraiser for the family of a fallen police officer, reports say.

The plea from Lisa Titkemeier, 39, comes just over one year after she admitted to faking a cancer diagnosis and then taking donations for treatment, WTVG Channel 13 reports .

Titkemeier pleaded guilty Thursday to misdemeanor theft in Lucas County Common Pleas Court, records show. A judge placed her on probation for one year. A sentence of 180 days in jail was suspended.
