BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- An Allegany County man was found dead in his hotel room Thursday morning, according to New York State Police.
Police said Sean Dawson, 32, of Alfred, was visited by Briar York, 27, also of Alfred, in his hotel room on Tuesday. Dawson was staying at an Economy Inn on State Route 244 at the time.
York allegedly stabbed Dawson multiple times following a discussion about Dawson's possible status as a sex offender. York then attempted to clean the scene of possible evidence, police said.
Officials found Dawson deceased around 10:20 a.m. Thursday morning.
York was charged with second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. York was transported to the Allegany County Jail for CAP arraignment.
An investigation remains ongoing.
