PICO RIVERA – Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at a gas station in Pico Rivera.

Deputies from the department’s Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station responded at 8:56 p.m. Thursday to the 9400 block of Washington Boulevard and Passons Boulevard, where the shooting occurred, said homicide Lt. Daniel Vizcarra.

Fox 11 reported the victim and the suspect had engaged in an argument prior to the shooting. According to witnesses at the scene, the suspect ran away in an unknown direction after shooting the victim.

The victim was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics, where he was pronounced dead.
