EUGENE, Ore. - A man accused of a serious crime on Eugene's Fern Ridge Trail has been released, with all charges against him dismissed.
Timothy Colnar, who was facing charges of first-degree rape and sex abuse, was scheduled to stand trial in November. These charges stemmed from an incident on August 8th near Amazon Creek, with his arrest occurring more than a month later.
A judge dismissed the case on Aug. 13, citing new information that revealed a key element of the crime could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
Efforts to reach the district attorney's office and Colnar's attorney for comment have not yet been successful.
