ROSEBURG, Ore. - Douglas County is gearing up for its 3rd Annual International Overdose Awareness Day event on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stewart Park Pavilion.

According to Adapt Integrated Health Care, HIV Alliance, and Douglas Public Health Network, the event aims to honor lives lost to overdose and support those in recovery.

This year's theme, "One Big Family," emphasizes community connection and compassion. The event will feature a free community BBQ, remembrance activities, and an open mic for personal stories and messages of hope.

Attendees can also participate in naloxone training to learn how to reverse an opioid overdose. Local organizations will be present to offer resources for prevention, recovery, and more.
