OCONTO COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - Health officials in Wisconsin have confirmed and identified five additional cases of measles in Oconto County and are urging Wisconsinites to check their vaccination status.
According to a release from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), the additional cases are linked to the nine cases confirmed in the county on August 2.
The new confirmations bring the total number of cases to 14.
"The ongoing investigation indicates that measles is spreading locally," the DHS's release stated. "DHS is working in coordination with Oconto County Public Health and surrounding local public health departments to identify and directly notify people with known exposures."
