CONWAY, S.C. (WIS/ WMBF ) - Authorities are learning more about the suspect in a deadly shooting outside a South Carolina bar, WMBF reports.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed on Thursday that Irving Oswaldo Gonzalez Centeno is in the United States illegally.

The Horry County Sheriff’s Office revealed Wednesday that ICE placed a hold on Centeno, but his legal status was not confirmed until Friday.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson said they notified ICE after a screening process.

The Conway Police Department charged Centeno with murder in connection with Aug. 15 night shooting outside Rascal’s Bar & Grill off 16th Avenue.
