The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a recall for 32,000 pounds of meat due to false USDA inspection marks. The recall affects various products including chorizo sausages, pork ribs, and pork chops.

Consumers are warned that any meat product bearing the false EST 1785 number should be considered misbranded and unsafe to eat. The USDA advises that these products should be discarded immediately or returned to the point of purchase.

The affected products were sealed before August 20, 2025, and were distributed nationwide. Although there have been no confirmed reports of illness from consuming these products, the USDA emphasizes the importance of caution.

How returns will be handled depends on the specific retailer from which the products were purchased.
