COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The PLACE, a Colorado Springs nonprofit focused on serving young people experiencing homelessness, announced on Friday that it will be temporarily closing its 24/7 youth shelter on September 5.

According to The PLACE, the decision comes amid funding challenges for the organization. In a news release, a spokesperson for the organization said it is part of “a strategic effort to ensure the organization’s long-term stability while continuing to provide critical support to youth experiencing homelessness.”
