CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) - A Wampum man was sentenced Friday in a case stemming from a stalking investigation in Canfield.

Matthew Edmiston, 39, pleaded guilty to telecommunications harassment, a first-degree misdemeanor, in a Canfield court. A menacing by stalking charge was dismissed, according to court records.

Court records state that Edmiston was given the option to serve 10 days in a community service program in lieu of jail time, as part of his sentence. He will also be on probation for 12 months, and he was ordered to have no contact with the victim in the case.

He was charged after a woman who worked at a business in Canfield called police on June 3 to report that she had been receiving friend requests from an Instagram account that made references to her workplace. According to a
