FRUITPORT, Mich. — A former Fruitport High School custodian recently pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and three counts of using computers to commit a crime.
Justin Hess, 34, pleaded guilty on Aug. 14 and will be sentenced on Oct. 15. He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.
Superintendent Jason Kennedy said Hess was employed through a third-party contractor and was arrested on Jan. 29.
Despite using a contractor, Kennedy said employees undergo a background check and criminal history screening.
The investigation into Hess' online activity began after police learned he had possessed and uploaded child sexually abusive material online.
