Market Basket celebrated a grand reopening of its store on the North Andover/Lawrence line on Friday morning.

The new store replaces its predecessor, which is directly next door in the shopping plaza at 350 Winthrop Avenue.

The renovated location is twice the size of the old one, and has new offerings, including a bigger kitchen, butcher shop, sushi station and a coffee and ice cream bar.

Customers flocked to the new store on Friday, which had a full parking lot not long after 7 a.m.

A notable absence from the day's festivities was Arthur T. Demoulas, as he remains suspended pending an internal investigation.
