Greek Orthodox church undergoes stained glass repairs

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Willet Stained Glass Studios, based in Minnesota, focuses on restoring stained glass throughout the country.

Their latest project is St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Huntington.

“We are restoring the stained glass on the outside, so basically bringing life again and making the windows shine again,” worker Patrick Constancia said. “Also, doing some repair on the wood frames that are rotten and in bad shape. So, we’re going to scrape that down and give a nice painting work on it.”

The team is also putting exterior coverings on the windows, protecting them from cracking or shattering.

Over time, stained glass builds up debris and can be impacted by weather.

Church leaders noticed that the glass was in need of repair.
