PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) is investigating a Friday shooting that left a man hurt.

Police say officers responded at 5:11 a.m. to reports of a shooting at the Shorehaven apartment complex in the 16900 block of Porters Inn Drive.

There, a 45-year-old man was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body and was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the man was uncooperative with investigators on the circumstances that led to the shooting, but officers say they do not believe the shooting was random.

There is no active threat to the public, police add.
