BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - In recent court filings, East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore recused his office from prosecuting Zachary School Administrator Kristy Gilpin, citing conflicts in the case.
Court filings state, “The juvenile victim and the father of the juvenile victim are biologically related to a full-time employee of the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office, thereby creating a personal interest which is in conflict with fair and impartial administration of justice.”
The recusal order signed by a judge indicates that all of the files have been turned over to the Attorney General’s Office.
